Governance and Scrutiny Board
The Governance and Scrutiny Board (GSB) is a forum for formal decision-making by the PCC and is also where the PCC formally holds the Chief Constable to account for providing efficient and effective policing.
This board has oversight of a number of things:
• how the public money is spent
• key projects such as buildings and IT
• how the police are delivering against the Police & Crime Plan
• programmes of work improving the service the police provide
• risks and issues
• performance and assurance
• inspections (HMICFRS)
• matters relating to the police workforce
• strategic plans and reports

- Medium Term Financial Plan report 2023/24 (PDF)
- The Medium Term Financial Plan presented to the Police and Crime Panel on 1st February 2023 included provisional estimates provided by local authorities for their collection fund surpluses and deficits. The estimated total net surplus of £1.229m resulted in a balancing requirement from reserves for the 2023/24 budget of £3.434m. The revised collection fund surplus of £1.005m increases this requirement to £3.659m and this is reflected in the attached final MTFP.
