Contracts
Under the Freedom of Information Act (2000), the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) and Avon and Somerset Police are required to publish information about contracts and suppliers to ensure the force are delivering an open and transparent service.
This information is published so local people can see how money is being spent on policing services.
These contracts are essential to the day-to-day operations of the Force and include:
- Funding for commissioned Victim’s Services
- Infrastructure such as energy suppliers and estates maintenance
- Vehicle purchases and maintenance
In some circumstances, limited redactions will be made to contracts before they are published in order to comply with existing law, to protect commercial interests and for the protection of national security.
Within the tender documentation, it is a requirement for contractors to request any information they require redacting at contract award stage, therefore enabling us to publish new contracts immediately after award.
