The PCC Awards £200,000 to Community Groups

The Commissioner’s Crime Prevention Fund is a partnership between the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, Somerset Community Foundation (SCF) and Quartet Community Foundation (QCF), which aims to support community projects and activities across the force area that help reduce crime and anti-social behaviour (ASB).

Congratulations to all the organisations who are being awarded funding to support projects and activities that help reduce crime and anti-social behaviour (ASB) across the Avon and Somerset:

SWALLOW

SWALLOW offers services such as art, cookery, drama, outreach support, and a youth group for 13+. Partnering with OpenStoryTellers, they will co-deliver crime awareness sessions, including visits from PSCOs. Funding will also purchase safety devices, benefiting 75 individuals.
Amount awarded: £1,994.00

Nova Sports and Coaching

Funding will raise awareness of disability hate crime and prevention. Nova Sports delivers inclusive sport across Bath, Bristol, and Somerset, empowering people with disabilities. The project includes a training session for local police and an event during National Disability Hate Crime Awareness Week. The goal is to increase knowledge on how to report and prevent hate crime.
Amount awarded: £1,272.00

Changing Tunes

The Music Intervention Programme aims to support young people at risk of exclusion or criminal activity, in partnership with Urban Pursuits and BeXcellence. Changing Tunes uses music-based programs to reduce reoffending and criminal risk among young people.
Amount awarded: £9,732.00

Chinese Community Wellbeing Society

The funding will expand their casework surgery to support 100 individuals facing domestic abuse, racial abuse, or anti-social behaviour. They will also run workshops raising awareness of frauds, scams, and burglaries targeting the Chinese community.
Amount awarded: £10,000.00

Grassroot Communities

Grassroot Communities engages young people with advice, activities, and guidance to challenge negative behaviours. Funding will support continued detached youth work in South Bristol, particularly around Hartcliffe and the Morrisons/Wilmott Park areas.

inHope

Funding will support day services at Spring of Hope, assisting women experiencing domestic abuse and substance misuse. InHope’s drop-in centre and Life Recovery project provide services to vulnerable women, including emergency shelter and recovery support.
Amount awarded: £10,000.00

Unique Voice CIC

This will fund ‘Belonging’ a programme, which uses arts to teach primary school children about group dynamics, harmful behaviours, and reporting hate crime. The programme aims to build self-esteem, empathy, and reduce criminal behaviour.
Amount awarded: £8,585.00

Mind in Somerset

The Youth Safe Space project will offer out-of-hours mental health support for young people aged 13-25 in Yeovil. Trained staff will provide one-on-one sessions using de-escalation techniques and signposting to relevant services.
Amount awarded: £10,000.00

Tender Education & Arts

Funding will support intimate partner and sexual violence prevention programmes for 75 young people in Bath. Tender will run workshops in three schools to educate students about healthy relationships, helping prevent future abuse.
Amount awarded: £6,589.60

Southside Family Project Funding will train staff in Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) to provide support to families with challenging behaviours, preventing future violence. NVR helps parents manage conflict and reduce escalation in relationships.

Bristol Somali Youth Voice

Funding will support detached youth work, football and basketball sessions, and workshops addressing criminal activity risks such as knife crime. The project will engage young people in high-risk areas, benefiting 552 individuals.
Amount awarded: £10,000.00

Circles South West

This will support interventions for young people in Bristol engaging in harmful sexual behaviour (HSB). Circles South West uses individualised support programs to prevent HSB escalation, including technology-assisted abuse.
Amount awarded: £10,000.00

St Mary Redcliffe Church

This will fund work on racist language and attitudes in the local community. St Mary Redcliffe runs various community services and will use the training to build a more inclusive, supportive environment.
Amount awarded: £7,000.00
