PCC hears from future leaders at Integrate UK’s Annual Youth Conference
Last Friday (13th December) Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Clare Moody attended Integrate UK’s Annual Youth Conference, held by young people in Bristol.
Integrate UK is a charity investing in the skills and talents of young people to nurture future leaders.
The conference consisted of speeches, live performances, short film viewings as well as awards and celebrations.
Speeches were made by young people about topics that concern them, such as war, racism, and how the national curriculum does not reflect that almost 36 per cent of students in Britain are from minority ethnic backgrounds.
Clare spoke to Integrate UK and attendees about what she does as PCC and answered their questions in a Q&A session. Questions revolved around young people and support for them, which is where Clare spoke about the Violence Reduction Partnership (VRP).
Clare also celebrated the young people’s successes, handing out certificates for their participation in Integrate UK, to congratulate them on all they have achieved.
