Engagement Round Up

One of the main roles the Police and Crime Commissioners (PCC) has is to be the voice of local people in policing, to achieve this Clare goes on weekly public engagements across Avon and Somerset.

Last week Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Clare Moody was out on engagements across Avon and Somerset, reaching different people. Below is a roundup of where and why the engagements were held.

Clare held a public forum in Weston-Super-Mare to hear views on her police and crime plan. It was an opportunity for everyone who attended to:

– Help shape how policing is delivered in their area

– Share their ideas on what would work in their community

– Find out more about the consultation on their council tax and police funding

Next, on Wednesday Clare attended the Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP) Celebration Ceremony, this is a celebration for all the recently graduated Detectives in Avon and Somerset Police.  The DHEP is an exciting route into policing, you get the opportunity to obtain a degree whilst working and earning a full salary.

Clare then visited Norton Fitz warren’s Parish Councillors; they talked about their local crime concerns in their area. Rural crime was the focus of the discussion. Clare also spoke about the police and crime plan consultation.

Clare also had an engagement Friday in Burnham On Sea which you can read more about here: PCC visits Burnham on Sea | OPCC for Avon and Somerset (avonandsomerset-pcc.gov.uk)
