A funding stream is now live for organisations to bid for funding to enable sport and physical activity initiatives for young people up to the age of 25.

The Crime Prevention Through Sport Fund, delivered through a partnership with Wesport and Somerset Activity & Sports Partnership (SASP), aims to support projects that use sport and physical activity to reduce violence, crime and anti-social behaviour.  For more information, please follow the link below:

The Office of The Police and Crime Commissioner has committed a total of £70,000 to be shared across the Avon and Somerset area – the priority areas that the projects must be delivering within to be eligible are listed on the above fund page. Maximum grant applications should be in the region of £5,000.

Police and Crime Commissioner Clare Moody said, “My office is proud to support projects that use sport and physical activity to reduce violence, crime, and anti-social behaviour in our Avon and Somerset communities, through the Crime Prevention through Sport Fund.

“As Police and Crime Commissioner, I believe it’s crucial to work together to protect our young people. I encourage all sport groups and communities to apply for this grant to help create a safer, more supportive environment across Avon and Somerset. Please do have a look to see if this fund can help the work of your organisation or an organisation you know.”

Applications are now open and will close on Monday July 29th 2024
