PCC Clare Moody to question Chief Constable on recent HMICFRS inspection

Clare Moody, Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), will be asking questions about the performance of Avon and Somerset Police to Chief Constable Sarah Crew on 19 February at 11:00am. The Police Question Time (PQT) will be live streamed on Facebook and LinkedIn. `

The PQT this month is based on the recently released Police Efficiency, Effectiveness and Legitimacy (PEEL) report. PEEL is the process of which His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) inspect, monitor and report on how effective and efficient a police service is, with the aim of encouraging improvement.

Clare will ask the Chief Constable how the service will use this report to improve in the areas assessed as requiring improvement, or adequate.

Police and Crime Commissioner, Clare Moody said:

“One of my main responsibilities as Police and Crime Commissioner is  to provide scrutiny and governance of your police service, which means monitoring and challenging the Chief Constable to make sure that Avon and Somerset Police is delivering an effective and efficient service to our communities.”
